The Mission Church will be providing an opportunity for our church family and local community to participate in Operation Christmas Child during the months of October and November. This project is an annual worldwide outreach of Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, the eldest son of Dr. Billy Graham. As a non-profit organization, Samaritan’s Purse specializes in meeting the critical needs of victims of war, poverty, disease, famine, and natural disaster. Such a tangible demonstration of God’s love not only points toward the purpose of sharing the Gospel message with hurting people, but compassionately opens the door to their hearts as well.

In particular, Operation Christmas Child makes it possible for millions of suffering children living in the most desperate of circumstances to experience the love of God through a simple gift. With the help of many caring people, shoe boxes packed with hygiene items, school supplies, small toys, and Gospel booklets are collected, processed, and shipped to more than one hundred countries. A follow-up discipleship program for children is offered by Mailbox Club. Last year alone more than 7.6 million little ones received these boxes!

As we work together to support this vital outreach, it is our hope and prayerful desire for the Lord to bless each participant with the joy of knowing that he can personally, meaningfully express the love of God to a needy child.
